After a year abroad, singing, writing, and a sizable digression into cheese, Indira Elias is back on Australian stages with a collection of divine songs– new and old. Join her at the Midnight Special for the first show of ‘The Intricate, Infinite, Intimate Tour’– looking at things up close, and singing lullabies to the microscopic universe with sweet, tender care.

Indira Elias is an artist, songwriter, composer and producer, with a body of work coloured in cinematic folk-noir. One of the Powerhouse Museum’s 2021 Generation Fellows, Elias has garnered support from Sydney’s Fbi radio, 2SER and Triple j. Her debut album, “Songs from a Moon//Songs by the Sun” was released to much acclaim. The past 12 months has seen Indira tour the UK (London, Manchester, Bristol, Glasgow) with Swedish artist Alice Boman and support Dutch pianist and composer Joep Beving at Cafe de la Danse, for his sold out Paris show. Her move overseas facilitated collaborations, including with Portuguese artist Himalion (Diogo Sarabando) on his new album co-produced by Robin Pecknold (Fleet Foxes). Most recently, Indira released a fully-improvised album ‘Foshira’, in collaboration with polyrhythmic-jazz-house outfit ‘Foshe’. Indira has two EPs in the works, to be released in 2024.
